The monk

Its New Year's Eve and many of us are making New Year resolutions (of course it may last hardly a week). One has this saintly feeling with all the resolutions and stuff. That inspired me to paint this monk today. My best friend and critique, my better half felt that the monk was leaning in a bit too much. My explanation was that the resolutions induced a meditative trance and he is leaning on his staff as a result.
Enjoy the resolutions and saintly phase until you break the "resolutions" :)

Happy New Year

A New Year is just round the corner, and you must be getting ready to party hard. I have tried to bring in the mood of dancing and festivity in my next painting. You can put this one up in almost any room in your home or office. Wishing you a very Happy New Year. Have fun!!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone! The moment we think of Christmas, we think of Christmas tree, cake, Santa Claus, snow, gifts and wine (in no particular order). Hmm wine. That sounded good. I thought I'll sip a glass of beautiful red wine with all of you.

A perfect piece for your dining room corner, beside the glass ware cabinets. A 10'' X 12'' oil on black canvas, needs no framing, and is ready to adorn your wall.

Sunset in the arids

So, I finally decided to try my hand at using brushes, after painting all these days with the palette knife. The scene is a sunset in and arid land, which has some throny trees. The paint wraps around the canvas, completely omitting the need to be framed. Perfect for a scenery like appearance in your room.

The forest river

This afternoon, I wanted some peaceful silence, interluded with chirping birds and gurgling water. And what better way to get that in this metropolitan city life, other than a painting to depict just that!
A soothing stream flowing a midst a forest, the sound of water and the chirping of the birds in the trees. Bliss!

Sunset in pastels

As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm experimenting with a lot of different media and techniques. Here is a humble attempt at using oil pastels. Its done on high quality paper and is 11.5'' by 16.5'' in size. It is not framed. Please do send in your comments, as they would be very valuable for my progress.
